What Henna 3 year users think about the advantages and disadvantages of henna
With the history of Ayurveda, henna has been handed down as a herb with high health and hair effects.
It is a popular henna for natural gray hair dyeing and treatment, but it is true that it has its advantages and disadvantages.
I will tell you about the actual merits and demerits of henna that Vatako who actually habitually uses henna for about 3 years and has a qualification as a henna instructor is actually feeling!
① You can not get the hair color you want
For Vatako, who has been using chemical colors for more than 10 years and loved bright hair colors, I think this is the biggest disadvantage.
I've been using henna for 3 years, but it may still be a shameful part of my back hair.
According to a hairdresser, when henna is applied, the components of the henna get entangled in the hair, giving the image of a film being applied.
The film is extremely strong and highly water repellent, so it seems that it will repel the chemical coloring agent. I can no longer color the way I want.
It may be manageable once or twice with henna, but if you stack it over and over again, the film will become stronger,
Vatako has been henna dyeing once a month on average for three years now, and now she has basic black hair, but there are times when she still wants to make her brighter.
Just about a year ago, I tried to cry at a beauty salon I used to say, "I still want to make bright colors...",
It was an unreasonable level if I did not do a tremendously powerful bleaching agent several times, and it was blocked as much as possible because it would damage the hair considerably. (← Hairdresser who cares very much about hair health)
I rejected it.
Therefore, we recommend only those who do not plan to color for a while or have a strong determination when doing henna dyeing.
② With henna alone, white hair stands out red
When dyed with henna alone, the color of black hair does not change, and the area of white hair dyes orange.
Therefore, when henna dyeing alone, gray hair is conspicuous.
You can make adjustments by mixing indigo, etc., but unlike ordinary hair colors and hair dyeing, the overall color is not the same, so I think that only the gray hair part will be slightly noticeable. (← If you increase the number of indigo too much, the hair color of the ground hair will be too black, so be careful!)
Depending on how gray my hair is and my personal values, I can tolerate it.
③ Henna dyeing odor problem
This was annoying when pointed out by Mr. Agu (husband).
One day when I made the henna, I said, "Oh? I wonder what it is? I know the situation, but if someone who doesn't know it smells like a dull body odor, it's better to be careful. OK."
"Ehhhhh. Seriously!? (';ω;`)"
It would be nice if you were familiar with the scent of henna and the scent of natural herbs, but henna is a fragrance that no one is familiar with at all.
A scent like grass. Smells like a slightly sour body odor. There are various ways to feel it, but it seems that it is not a good scent.
When dyeing henna, it is better to take measures such as when you do not meet many people the next day or when you do shampooing.
④ Henna dyeing towel problem
When making a henna dye, it is recommended that you use a dark towel as the color will appear even if you shampoo it for 2-3 days. It feels like I'll drop it after washing it several times, but I don't like it if it's my favorite or a high-grade towel gets colored.
Is it best if there are 2 or 3 towels for henna dyeing that can be dirty?
